Cocoa

Yesterday and today, Daniel and I skinned 3 KG of cocoa beans!!
We make Home made chocolate, because we have so many cocoa trees, it is important to utilize all that nature provides us.  So when the time comes to take all the cocoa fruit from the trees, we can make juice from the pulp of the fruit or just good 'ol fashioned way and suck the fruit off the bean.  When your done with that we put all the beans in the sun to dry for a couple of a days, about 7 days, when it is dry and smells rather rotten, we take it and roast them.  The smell that emerges from this process is something you cant even explain, DELICIOUS!!!!

So having done that, the boring part comes, Well it is rather therapeutic, we sit and shell every single bean.  but just try to imagine, we shell about 1000 beans per 1 KG, and we just shelled 3 kg of cocoa....thats alot of work!!!!

So tomorrow Daniel has to wake up at 5:30 in the morning to go buy fresh milk from the local dairy farm!!  and afterwards we are going to make CHOCOLATE!!!!  I shall put up Photos of the making tomorrow...until then here is a picture of the roasted cocoa beans!!!  beautiful!!
